Comfortable, friendly hotel in a great location.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Spacious room. Comfortable pillows.

The only negative was being wakened by street noise on the Saturday night.

comfortable and pleasant

I stayed here a few years ago since then the hotel has had a much needed makeover and a different management style has certainly improved the experience The room was pleasant and comfortable .The location is excellent near the main streets in kilkenny and is in the heart of the city making it easy to get around . The breakfast offered a wide choice of either continental or cooked all included in the b& b rate. I also liked the system of room sevicing and towel exchange wherby if on more than a 1 night stay you could choose wether you had room serviced or not if you chose not to you received a 5 euro voucher for use in the bar/food plus an extra euro was given to the hotels charity which was a great idea as win win for all the guest rec a discount the hotel saved on labour and washing costs the charity rec a donation a great innovation .

There was nothing to mention as far as dislikes.

Excellent and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Location was excellent for exploring the town. Breakfast was excellent as well. The bar was very convenient and the hotel personnel was very friendly and helpful. Not one complaint!

Wonderful hotel, not very highly rated restaurant.

Very nice facility in the middle of the town. A short walk to almost everything. Breakfast was about the same as all breakfasts we had. The hotel staff were really nice and helpful. The restaurant was expensive and not very good food.

The restaurant serving staff was rude and served cold food.

Wonderful

My wife has celiac and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a safe breakfast to eat, even bringing us out extra food because there wasn’t as much we could eat from the continental buffet. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a good location.

Perfect location, everything else was fine no complaints...

Perfect location, everything else was fine no complaints except for the heating in the room. The breakfast was ideal, the lady showing us to our table was so lovely and pleasant first thing in the morning, great start to our day.

Reception staff on check in & check out were pleasant but could improve

Terrific hotel and will be back soon, I hope...

Excellent breakfast with so many choices of freshly cooked food. Staff really friendly and helpful throughout stay. Reception team especially welcoming. I had stayed for business some time ago and it was really nice but rooms have been upgraded since and are beautiful.

The only issue I have is the wine offered by the glass in the bar. I ordered a glass of red which I had to return as it was so sharp, I could not drink it. The barman kindly allowed me to change it free of charge but the difference was only marginal. I don't drink beer or spirits so wouldn't mind paying a good bit more for a decent glass of red at the end of the day!

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

I stayed in the penthouse. Unfortunately the view we had from both windows was the car park across the road. They should have the Windows dressed with white shutters instead you could just see straight into the carpark from the bedroom and The car park can see straight into your room unless you keep the curtains pulled. The breakfast was awful and the whole downstairs reception smelt of deep fat frying. Also only RTÉ channels on the TV. Not good enough for what Claims to be a four-star hotel. As soon as you step off the lift the reception area smells of deep fat frying. Such a shame as the Hotel its self is in a great location with great staff. But I would not stay again. Avoid room 320.

Staff were lovely.

Staff were lovely. Bedroom was lovely, bathroom was clean but didn't like the curtain in the bath. The bottom of the shower curtain didn't look the cleanest. The location was perfect.

Disappointed that there weren't any parking facilities. Assumed there would be or at least a discount in the local car park. Also a little disappointed that no swimming pool there.

Extremely central location and lovely bar with good bar food and very friendly and helpful staff

Household staff knocked twice on the morning of check out to see if we were still in our room @ 09.50 and again at 10.00 while we were trying to eat our breakfast in the room. Checkout is not until 12.00 noon ???

Relaxing and Central.

Nice room. Warm and spacious. Breakfast lovely.

Bathroom layout terrible. Sink far too close to toilet, have left with few bruises, from continuous hitting off it. A smaller sink, better option. Bar very expensive, prices in Dublin are cheaper!! 3.30eur for a sparkling water!!

The room was stunning and the bed was so comfy , the break fast was lovely and it's right in the heart of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Kilkenny.

Pay for everything and got an inconvenience, disappointment and with very poor value for money.

The location is the only real attraction to this place

It's an expensive price to pay for an underwhelming experience that sums it up , orders for food are wrong the majority of the time , the staff were not the friendliest. Also the room had very little to offer and was an inconvenience more than comfort ( very little electrical shockets, poor lighting , poor ventilation etc.) . I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here given the other hotels with much better value for money.
